Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) Sedation

Nitrous oxide is a gas, commonly called happiness gas or laughing gas. Administering nitrous oxide is one way to reduce pain and anxiety in children during dental procedures. The gas is delivered through a small nosepiece, keeping your child awake during the procedure. Children usually recover quickly from the effects of gas once dental care is complete.

Relaxation Dentistry is suitable for:

  • Fear of needles and gunshots
  • High levels of fear or anxiety
  • Strong aversion to sounds, smells and tastes associated with dental care
  • Hyperactive gag reflex
  • Complex dental problems
  • Become deaf
  • Past traumatic dental experiences
  • The need to cram multiple procedures into a limited amount of time
  • TMJ-related problems that make it uncomfortable to open your mouth for long periods of time
  • Very sensitive teeth

Nitrous oxide inhalation sedation has helped many people who have avoided dental treatment overcome their fear of the dentist. Relaxation Dentistry can help you get the dental care you need.
